Men’s Hormone Health

Andropause & Men's Hormone Health

As men age, their estrogen levels gradually rise and their progesterone and testosterone levels gradually fall. The hormone balance changes. These gradual changes lead to a reduction in testosterone benefits and eventually to estrogen dominance.

Estrogen dominance is responsible for the majority of breast cancers and is the only known cause of endometrial cancer in women. Since the male prostate is the equivalent of the uterus, estrogen dominance is also a major cause of prostate cancer.

According to Dr. John Lee, M.D., author of "Hormone Balance for Men", the following symptoms can be attributed to hormone imbalance in men:

  • Fatigue
  • Low Sex Drive
  • Depressed Mood
  • Softer Erections
  • Breast Enlargement
  • Loss of Muscle
  • Hair Loss

When treating someone with hormone deficiency, use only a bio-identical hormone. Altered, synthetic versions of our natural hormones will not do - they are foreign to the body, do not convey the same benefits as the real hormone, and can have many undesirable side effects that you would not experience with the real hormone.

When using hormone creams or gels, the hormone is absorbed through the skin and into the blood without first passing through the liver. Thus, they are essentially all absorbed in the "free" form. When given orally, they pass first though the liver and 90% of them become protein-bound. For this reason, transdermal dosing is at least 10 times more efficient than oral dosing.

The use of Natural Progesterone in topical skin creams is supported by many physicians and health professionals. One prominent physician states that prostate health can be improved by a daily intake of 8 - 12 mg of progesterone. Daily use of Kokoro's Men's Creme supplies this recommended level.

Men's Creme:

More than a woman's creme with a man's label, Men's Creme is a Natural Progesterone Cream formulated specifically for men.

Kokoro Men's Creme is a special blend of 396 mg of Natural Progesterone USP (0.8%) and Saw Palmetto oil in a two-ounce jar. Each 1/4 teaspoon of cream contains 8.25 milligrams of progesterone. Kokoro has combined proven male supplements such as Saw Palmetto Oil, Pygeum Bark Extract, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Stinging Nettle Extract and Zinc with Natural Progesterone USP, in a premium, all-natural moisturizing cream.

According to Dr. John Lee, leading authority on natural progesterone, natural progesterone USP has a molecular structure identical to the progesterone produced by the human body. Natural progesterone is produced through the fermentation (and other steps) of the Mexican Wild Yam. Dr. Lee points out that if the molecule produced from the extract of the Mexican Wild Yam is molecularly identical, then it is indeed the identical hormone. Reports indicate that natural progesterone has no side effects while the same cannot be said for the synthetic products.

It is important to note the difference between "transdermal" (which means through or by way of the skin) and oral progesterone: with the transdermal delivery system, active ingredients are delivered to the body rapidly and completely without being metabolized by the liver first (going through the liver reduces the bio-availability of the active ingredients by 80 - 90%), plus, it is taxing on the liver.

Please do not take for granted that your doctor understands the differences between the natural product and synthetic products. You are in charge of your health and your body - do your research! If you haven't read any of Dr. Lee's books, we highly recommend that you do. He is the world authority on natural progesterone and what it can do to put your body into balance.
